Indoors or Outdoors PeopleHi: A recent newspaper article interviewed retirees who viewed themselves as "outdoors people". The article did not say, but I am assuming that they like to spend their days outdoors, in nature, or just walking around, as compared to inside. Although it might simply be personal preference, the idea of being outdoors people has currency. You are exposed to the elements and much needed sunshine. Your mind and psyche is soothed by nature and her beauty. Time is not structured, nor are the stoplights and rush of traffic jolting you into a frenzy of busy days. Being outdoors aligns you with natures timeclock, sunrise and sunset, and the gradual waning as our fall season into crisp days and cool temperatures. A long walk through Stanley Park last week reminded me how we should get out and often. I hope to become more of an outdoors person, and soon. M.
