TravelBed and Breakfast a Great Way to Go
Hi: Well, the Okanagan is certainly busy this summer. We had quite an experience a couple of years ago arriving in Kelowna just hoping to find a hotel or motel. No such luck, and we ended up a dirt road in a cabin with no electricity and depending on a bachelor stag party to feed us as we had no food. That is another story, but I booked before we went this time, going online and calling. Almost every place was full, but we did find a small bed and breakfast, and what a find it was. High Tech Clothing Hi: Most of us have packed for vacations, but the idea of one suitcase for six months is challenging. Not wanting to be sexist, but as a woman I find it daunting. I have also heard of horror stories of the cost of extra luggage. One friend was charged $900.00 for one extra suitcase her return trip from Africa. Expensive souvenirs. Travel with new fabrics, techno toolsHi Travel has certainly changed since I lugged the side of a cow around Africa. The new light nylon luggage with wheels makes moving quickly possible. Not all places work with wheels however. Cobble-stoned streets, massive steps, dirt roads; all sorts of places require you to carry your luggage. It's a good word, really, lugging luggage. Packing light is easier and easier, thanks to techno, breathable fabrics that protect you from wind, can be washed and dried overnight, scrunched up and still look good. |
